The walking drill for better sequence

One of Davey's favorite drills: walk through three balls to shift your weight, find your sequence and free up your swing.

This is one of my favorite drills to teach. It helps you shift your weight, build dynamic balance, and just get the skill of making good contact with the ball. All you need is three balls.
Line up three balls, roughly a club to a club-and-a-half apart. Stand at the far end, start moving the club so it brushes the ground, and slowly walk forward, whacking the three balls in a row as you go. By walking forward you are shifting your weight from your right side to your left, which is exactly what good sequencing feels like. It trains your balance and your coordination, and it is a great way to loosen up. I see a lot of golfers swinging fast and strong, when what they really want is to relax and let the body and the sequence create the swing. Give it a proper go at home. It is well worth your time. Good luck practicing.
