Smooth out your takeaway

Snatchy, wristy takeaway? All you need is a basket and one slow roll to find rhythm and a better strike from the very first move.

A good swing starts with a good first move. I see a lot of wristy, snatchy takeaways, and the fix is about as simple as it gets. All you need is a basket.
Place a basket about a yard directly behind the ball. The drill is to make your takeaway, keep the club low in front of the ball, and let it roll into the basket. You are not flinging it to the inside or whipping it back fast. You just want to roll it gently in. Once you have the feel, add a ball. Set two balls down just in front of each other: roll the first one away into the basket, then hit the second. You will get a takeaway that is on plane, with nice rhythm and a much better strike. Good luck practicing.
