Turn, don't slide

Swinging all arms, or sliding instead of turning? Rest a club across your shoulders and feel what a proper, full-body turn should do.

A lot of golfers swing with too much arm, overturn, or slide instead of rotating. Here is a simple way to feel a proper turn. All you need is a club and your shoulders.
Rest the club across your shoulders and take your normal setup. From there, turn so the club points down toward the ball. If you do not use your lower body, it is practically impossible to get it pointing there, and if you slide rather than turn, you will not get there either. Turn properly and the club works toward the ball every time. Try to recreate that same feeling in your backswing, then let it go and make a nice, big, full turn. Good luck practicing.
